David and Janet Preston

Who are you?

David and Janet Preston, David is from Belfast and Janet is originally from England.  They are married and have four grown up children and six grandchildren.

What’s your overall aim?

To preach and teach about Jesus wherever possible and to encourage people of all ages to grow in their intimacy with Christ.

What are you doing to achieve that?

We’ve been in India since 2007 and for eight year ran “India Quest”, providing young Christians with an opportunity to living and working in South-East India and to develop their faith in God through Bible study, prayer and practical service. Two years ago we changed tack as the felt God call them to concentrate more on teaching and preaching and to minister a holistic gospel so that those involved in leadership would be able to lead healthy lives fulfilling the call God had given them.

What’s a typical day like?

We work primarily with two groups one in the Punjab the other in South India.  Our days are very varied and involve teaching, preaching, leading Bible studies, running Alpha marriage courses, mentoring full time staff, taking youth and children’s groups and one on one counselling with all ages.

What can we do to help?

Writing an encouraging email is an enormous lift for us or even a line or two in a text to let us know how you are doing. To know you are praying gives us courage and boldness. Sending us money gives us greater flexibility to share our resources with those in need.
