Prayer

When we pray, God, the creator of the Universe hears us. Prayer builds the relationship that helps us bring His kingdom to Earth.

We want everything that happens in CFC to be birthed out of and steeped in prayer. It is only through God breathing and moving that we will see breakthrough in our lives, families, church, towns, cities and the nations. We want to encourage and support a rhythm of prayer for individuals personally and together as a church and also to provide opportunities to receive prayer from others.

Your Kingdom Come - a Call to Prayer - July 2022

Anyone listening to the news will be aware that we are living in a time of incredible uncertainty and turbulence, not only in the UK, but right across the world.  Political, financial, and health concerns dominate the headlines on a daily basis. With government resignations, wars, inflation, travel chaos, the fuel crisis, and a pandemic still affecting the nations, many people are fearful for what the future holds for them and their families.

As Christians, we know that the world and everything in it belongs to God. We are aware that man doesn't have the answers to the problems we are facing, only God has.  Daniel 2:20 says:  Then Daniel praised the God of heaven.  He said, 'Praise the name of God forever and ever, for He has all wisdom and power. He controls the course of world events; He removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. He reveals deep and mysterious thing and knows what lies hidden in darkness'.

CFC was birthed in prayer for this country, more than 30 years ago.  We saw God intervene many times in our land, as we prayed for peace.  We believe that as we face the current crisis, it is time to pray again for the nation/s. We read in  1 Timothy 2:1-4 :  First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Over the next days, weeks, and months we want to pray individually and corporately for God to move. In particular, we want to pray:

  • Against fear, as we declare that the earth and everything in it is subject to our God.
  • That He will raise up godly men and women into positions of power and authority, who will rule with wisdom, justice and mercy.
  • That the Lord will thwart the plans of the wicked and would make all things work together for our good.
  • That God would bring about a spiritual revival across the earth, bringing many people into a relationship with Jesus.
  • That His kingdom would come, and His will would be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
  • That God would continue to build His church and the gates of hell would not prevail against it.
  • That there would be increase in passion for intercession amongst God's people and a heart for the lost.
  • That God's people will be empowered, energised and bold in the face of all the shaking and changing circumstances.

Open prayer - CFC East

In addition, we are opening the auditorium at our East site for anyone who wants to call in to pray on weekdays from 9am -5pm starting Wednesday 13 July through to the end of the month.

Finally, I want to encourage you.  Prayer is an incredible weapon that God has blessed us with.  It has spiritual power that can demolish strongholds and can change the course of our country, and the nations.  We have a loving God who wants us to pray. He hears our prayers.  Please join with us at this pivotal time, as we pray and call on the Lord to move. Your prayers make a difference.

2 Chronicles 7:14

'Then, if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.'

Weeks of Prayer

As a church, setting aside time in our calendar to focus on prayer and fasting and to seek God as a community is a vital part of our yearly rhythm. We have a week of prayer in January and September each year. For each week, details will be announced on Sundays and shared in our Friday email and online. Contact info@thisiscfc.com for more details.

Prayer Clinic

Prayer Clinic provides an opportunity to receive in-depth prayer for any type of healing – physical, emotional and spiritual. Starting with a time of worship, we then break into small groups for individual prayer. Those who come for prayer can be assured of a safe and confidential environment and that all team members are trained and accountable to CFC Ministry Leadership. It is open to everyone. We meet on the first Thursday of each month at 8pm in the Ark Room in CFC East. Registration is required, so keep an eye out on the What's On page of our website for that coming up.

Prayer Meetings

We run a number of different prayer meetings throughout the year where we come together corporately to pray, worship and seek God for breakthrough. These meetings are open to anyone and are often at various times of the day. Keep an eye on our church calendar for upcoming events.
