Central Truth: God is faithful
We all find it hard to hope in God at times, particularly when we are in the middle of the storms of this life. The disciples must have felt like we do when they were in the boat with Jesus and the storm was raging (Mark 4:37). They must have thought that Jesus didn’t care as He was sleeping but He trusted His Father, He was sleeping knowing that His Father was in control; what faith, what hope!
Psalm 37:4 says if we hope in the Lord and keep His way, He will exalt us to inherit the land.
What is the land you are hoping to inherit?
Is it peace of mind, a job, is it actually land i.e. a house or even a Nation that will come to know our Father.
Hope in God, trust Him, He is working on your behalf (even when you don’t see it), you will inherit the land and you will eventually see the enemy’s plans destroyed.
As we hope in Him, we bring the Kingdom of God to earth, we plant the seeds (of faith) that He will water and they eventually grow to become large trees that others can find shade under (Mark 4:32).
Our Father is faithful
Pete and I have been in the middle of several storms over these last few years but our experience has been that our Father is faithful to keep His promises, He does care, He loves us and He IS our hope.
I (Jenny) was in bed for 6 months with chronic fatigue a few years ago and my experience was that each day He gave me peace (even if it was after a long struggle)! He also sent others to encourage me. There were days when I didn’t feel very hopeful but when I did hope in God, I saw the enemy destroyed as I claimed His promises and received His healing.
Whatever storm we are in the middle of, God promises to be faithful. Keep hoping and keep obeying and trusting until you see the ‘land’ you have been promised and the enemy destroyed.
Consider:
What are you hoping for?
What are you trusting God for?
What land do you want to inherit?
