24/7 Prayer

24/7 Prayer

24-7 Prayer is a non-denominational Christian movement that has a vision of reconciling the world to Jesus through movements and communities of Chris-centred, mission-minded prayer. CFCs Adrian Eagleson is the organisation’s National Director in Ireland.

Since it was established in 2000, 24-7 has seen the establishment of more than 10,000 prayer rooms worldwide in over 100 nations. Locally, its work is focused on developing rhythms and seasons of prayer in the local church and Christian organisations.

Since 2007, for example, there have been more that 250 prayer rooms throughout the length and breadth of our nation. 24-7 Ireland has also been mobilising mission teams to places such as Ibiza and Thailand as an expression of how prayer combines with mission and God’s heart for the lost.

“The beauty of 24-7 is that we are reconnecting with the basics of the early church; prayer, mission and justice,” Adrian explained. “We encourage the church to pray in creative ways that celebrates the diversity of church tradition and creates an atmosphere of faith and intimacy.

“We have seen churches in local towns gather together to pray in fantastic expressions of unity. For example, we have seen over 20 churches in Belfast staff a prayer room in the city centre for the entire month, offering a prayer space in the midst of the city’s main shopping district.”
